  • You describe the problem, I ask about constraints and timeline
  • An honest read on whether design is what you need right now
  • A rough shape for the work, if there is one
  • No preparation, no deck, no follow-up obligation

Not this one if: Detailed critique. There is not enough time, so book a design review instead.

Design review

One product, one flow, gone through screen by screen.

  • Send screens or a live link ahead of the call, I come having read them
  • Screen by screen critique: hierarchy, states, copy, spacing, the edges
  • Written notes within two working days, ordered by what to fix first
  • One round of follow-up questions over email

Not this one if: A brand new product with nothing drawn yet. Start with a direction session.

Direction session

Deciding what a site or product should look like before it gets built.

  • Layout, type, colour and motion decided together, with reasons attached
  • References pulled apart on the call so you can see why each one works
  • A written direction summary with the type and colour choices spelled out
  • Notes your developer can build from without guessing

Not this one if: Polishing something already built. A design review is the cheaper answer.
